Abstract

The climate change, environmental pollution and theincreasing number ofpopulation inthe last centuryhaveleft their mark onthe mentality, social and politicalorientationof the last decade. Agriculturehas become a priorityboth globallyandnationally, the ecologist currentleading theagricultural activities tosustainability domain. The Danube Valleywasinancient timesan inexhaustible resourcefor theareacommunities, agriculture and fishingbeingthe mainactivitiesthatsupportriparianpopulation. The cropsin the Danube Valley, onCetate-Dăbuleniplain area are specific for thelowland area andare carefully selectedin order to compliance withsustainable agriculture, thus increasing thepotential of the areain terms ofproviding foodand ecosystem's protection.
